New game DIRAC available March 10th

CONGRATULATIONS!
You have been offered the opportunity to take charge of the DIRAC mkII de-unfocusing vectorscope terminal. Keep your head cool as you progress through the increasingly challenging levels, untangling protons and keeping an eye out for the beneficial multiplier particle. Stay focused and don’t let the dizzying heights of fame distract as you rise from a lowly intern through the academic ranks. Can you reach the top?

DIRAC will be available as a premium game on Apple App Store and Google Play on March 10th.

Are you a games reviewer? We’d love for you to cover DIRAC!
Contact us at press(at)mediocre.se and we’ll send you a promo code!

I’m disappointed that after three months of waiting, it’s premium. How much is it going to cost? I might just pirate it off the internet. Darn.

Making games is costly and takes a lot of time, we hope that you’ll reconsider as we couldn’t afford to keep making games if nobody would pay for them. Thank you.

I agree with the moderator, especially for a game with a concept like this. I really liked the granny smith, I really enjoyed art from that game!. Perhaps I will try this tootoo

Will it be coming to Amazon’s Kindle Fire? I love your apps, but have seen two not available: Sprinkle Jr and Does Not Commute. I have bought all the ones available, inclhding the in-app for Smash Hit.

Hi,
Unfortunately we need to focus on our main platforms; iOS and Android. We are a really small studio (three people) and spending resources on porting to other platforms would take too much time from development of new games. In a perfect world we would love to release for everything, including my grandma’s toaster from the late 50′s. But is’t not a perfect world :(

Cheers!

Ah well. that sucks. I know amazon’s version of Android is different. It’s sad your dropping them and the customers there. The last bit of sarcasm about the toaster wasn’t needed however.

Hi again Jose,
It wasn’t meant as sarcasm. What I’m trying to convey is that we are not excluding any platforms due to dislike of the platform or something like that. It would have been great to support just about everything, but being a small team prohibits such projects. I hope you get the opportunity to play our games anyway.

Cheers!
Emil

All said, I do understand it’s difficult to support so many platforms being a small studio. Hopefully one day you can support this platform again. As much as I’d like it’ll be difficult for me and other platforms, but we’ll see.. I do love the games.

Hi,
Most of our tech is proprietary, with the exception of some libraries and such (see the in game credits for a complete list). So, we are not using Unity or any other such engine. You can get more insight about tech and development from Dennis blog: http://tuxedolabs.blogspot.se/

Cheers!

Hi Hector,
We have no plans for any further updates to Smash Hit or Does not Commute. As you might know, we are a really small studio (three people) and we need to look forward and focus on new and exciting games. DIRAC will release on iOS and Android next Thursday, so you will get the opportunity to find out everything about DIRAC yourself!

Cheers!

Some of you commenting need to calm the hell down. “Why do I have to pay?”, “What about this game?”, “I chose a non-major platform and I don’t understand why you can’t just magically make it appear on it. Guess you don’t care about me.”

Grow up and give these people a break. They’re working their butts off in a labor of love, trying to make a living.

Hi Jack,
There are no new levels planned for Smash Hit. While we really appreciate peoples love for Smash Hit, we’re just a very small studio and we need to move forward with new games.

Cheers,
Emil

We don’t mind having the new levels of SmashHit purchasable. We pay for a game because we know that we are goin to have a pleasure to play the game.
